People who say you can’t have it all have never been to Murray County, Georgia. Known as the Gateway to the Appalachians, a full one-third of the county is protected forest land. Lakes and streams crisscross the county, and together they create a wonderland of outdoor adventure right outside our doors. Hiking, fishing, biking, camping, wildlife watching, you name it. If it’s fun to do outdoors, we have it here.
History buffs love our area because it is rich with the stories of generations past. Native American heritage is abundant here, from prehistoric times to the “Trail of Tears.” Early settlers made their marks here as well, and it’s easy for visitors to see and touch the relics they left behind.
Murray County is situated a mere 40 miles from Chattanooga and 90 miles from Atlanta, so it’s easy to live it up in the big city during the day and still sleep under a blanket of mountain stars. This also means convenient access for commuters, new industry, and travelers.
