By the time Murray County, Georgia students graduate from high school, they are well prepared for today’s competitive university environment or to go directly into the job market.

The Murray County Public Schools system instills within our students the desire to learn, to graduate from high school, and to become productive citizens. The system's vision of "committed to student success, no exceptions, no excuses" echoes through the system. Murray County Public Schools consistently exceed the state average on the College and Career Readiness Index, indicating that our students are well prepared for college and the workforce when they graduate.

Murray County Public Schools, in partnership with Georgia Northwestern Technical College and Dalton State College, has one of the leading dual enrollment programs in the state. In addition to dual enrollment opportunities, where high school students can simultaneously earn high school and college credits, Murray County Public Schools has a strong, work-based learning component, connecting students' previous classroom learning and career goals with “real world” work environments.

Dalton State College, only minutes from Murray County, is an institution of the University System of Georgia that offers targeted bachelor's degrees, a full range of associate's degrees and career certificate programs, and a wide variety of public service activities, thereby enhancing the region’s economic vitality and quality of life. DSC has an enrollment of more than 5,000 students, including nearly 400 high school students who are dual enrolled.

Murray County is also served by Georgia Northwestern Technical College. With programs of study in business, health, industrial, and public service available, students have the opportunity to earn an associate's degree, diploma, or a career certificate. GNTC is the largest college in Northwest Georgia and fifth largest technical college in the state with an annual credit enrollment of 7,750 students at six convenient campus locations in the region. GNTC gives Murray County’s qualified employers access to Georgia’s highly acclaimed Quick Start program that provides workforce-training services free of charge.
