After my husband and I joined the
Chamber I quickly signed up to be a part of the Delegates
program. Dinah, our President, had made it sound so intriguing
I knew that if nothing else I was in for a good time.
Seriously
though, I felt this would be another way to give back to the
community and also a good resource for meeting new people. Well
it turned out to be true. I have met a great many people and
formed new relationships.
Being a
Delegate keeps you informed of what's happening in the
community. We attend Ribbon Cuttings and Open Houses where we
welcome new businesses.
More than 50%
of the Delegates have completed The Leadership Murray Program
which has broadened our insight into the community. This in
turn helps us give out useful information to Chamber members,
out of town visitors and residents of Chatsworth and Murray
County.
As a Delegate
we are at the forefront of Chamber activities. We are very
involved and very active. Some of the activities that we handle
and assist in annually are: The Community Easter Egg Hunt, the
Chamber Golf Classic, Breakfast with Santa and The
Chatsworth/Murray County Christmas Parade.
We are also
involved with Chamber members by keeping in touch with them and
informing them of upcoming events.
Being a
Delegate has been rewarding for me in these past four years and
I hope that you could find it as rewarding to you.
